Dr. Peter Zhao is a board-certified endodontist dedicated to helping patients save their natural teeth through compassionate, precise, and evidence-based care. He understands that many patients feel anxious about needing a root canal and strives to make every visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible by taking the time to listen, answer questions, and explain each step of treatment.

After earning his dental degree from the New York University College of Dentistry, Dr. Zhao completed general practice residency at Jacobi Medical Center, where he gained extensive experience treating acute facial trauma and managing patients with complex medical conditions. After several years practicing as a general dentist, Dr. Zhao returned to NYU to specialize in endodontics, where he ranked at the top of his program in total number of treatments completed.

Dr. Zhao is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, a distinction earned by fewer than 20% of practicing endodontists in the United States. Board certification is a voluntary and rigorous process that reflects his commitment to the highest standards of clinical excellence and lifelong learning.

When not around teeth, Dr. Zhao enjoys playing tennis, being outdoors, and spending time with his wife and young son.
